Frank is commemorated at Tyne Cot Memorial, Stone Number 121.A Manchester Regiment Cap Badge.

Frank was a native of Manchester but was living at 46 Lawley Bank with his wife Elizabeth at the time of his enlistment.

Frank was to become yet another statistic of the battle of Passchendaele, being killed in action on the 4th October 1917. His body was never found and along with the names of 35,000 other ‘missing’ soldiers his name is on the Tyne Cot memorial, Panel Reference 120 - 124.

Notes: Frank’s age may have been incorrect, on the Denton Roll of Honour website they infer his age as 28, if he was 28 then he was living at 245 Ashton Road Denton in 1911, his Father was Alfred Herbert Ainsworth and his Mother Martha Ann Ainsworth, he was Baptised on the 7th of February 1895 aged 6.

He married Elizabeth Adams in the 3rd quarter of 1915 at Shropshire, there son was born in the July 1915, Elizabeth remarried to Joseph Bailey in 1919.
